Smiths Detection has opened an office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to help meet the demands of its Middle East customers and expand its presence in a rapidly growing market.
Mal Maginnis, President of Smiths Detection, said: “Our new Riyadh facility will allow us to work more closely with our regional customers and to support Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the security of its citizens, ports, borders and airports.”
More than 600 systems, including advanced X-ray systems, trace detectors and high-energy cargo scanners, are currently deployed in Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh office is the second to be opened in the Middle East by Smiths Detection which is also represented in United Arab Emirates.
Smiths Detection is the world’s leading provider of advanced technologies to identify constantly evolving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) threats. It currently has more than 70,000 X-ray systems in more than 180 countries and almost 200,000 chemical detectors deployed worldwide.
