Jean-Yves Le Drian has a hook (logic) Kabul before returning to France. After Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the defense minister, arrived for his third visit to Afghanistan. The program includes meetings with the Afghan authorities and the French command.
One option currently used for the removal of the material involves a first stage air: the material is loaded at Kabul airport on which France will take responsibility on October 1,
and transferred to the city of Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The equipment would then be transported by train through Russia to the Baltic ports where it would be loaded on ro-ro and sent to a French port. Another possible option includes a rail transit through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and Russia.
