Messier-Bugatti-Dowty will provide the electric brake for helicopter Eurocopter X4

Velizy, September 10, 2012 - Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran group) announced the signing of a contract with Eurocopter for the exclusive supply wheels and brakes for the new generation helicopter X4.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty produce the 4 wheels and 2 brakes with electric drive. For the systems, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty will provide the EBC (Electronic Brake Controller), developed and produced by Safran Electronics Canada, and four transmitters BPTU pedals (Brake Pedal Transmitter Unit).

Electric brakes Messier-Bugatti-Dowty will be designed to reduce weight while maintaining excellent friction and capabilities to offer Eurocopter simplified maintenance requirements consistent with its performance in service for this device.


Messier-Bugatti-Dowty is already a partner of Eurocopter in many programs, including the Superpuma, the Dauphin and the Tigris.
