Stéphane Abrial was appointed Adviser to the President and CEO of Safran

Stéphane Abrial, French Air Force General, joined Safran as Advisor Jean-Paul Herteman, CEO of the Group. His appointment is effective as of January 2, 2013.

Stéphane Abrial, 58, an engineer from the Ecole de l'Air Salon-de-Provence (promotion 1973), patented the Air War College, graduated from the United States Air Force's Air War College in Montgomery (Alabama, USA) in 1992, the former auditor IHEDN.

In September 2009, the 28 NATO nations called the Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia (United States), it is the first non-American officer to become NATO Strategic Commander. It retains this capacity until September 28, 2012 where it sends the command to French Air Force General Jean-Paul Paloméros.
